Many were confused as to why he was subject to an attack for simply spending time off at a bar in the capital. Barkok came up from the Eintracht academy before making his first senior appearance for the club back in 2016. Two years ago in 2022, he joined Bundesliga side Mainz before being loaned out to Hertha Berlin in 2. Bundesliga.
