Despite a valiant effort by Davante Adams on Wednesday to save face with a pro-Raiders photo dump on social media, the apparent tension between the star wideout and the team remains a cause for concern in Sin City.

Rumblings of Adams' displeasure with the Raiders originally surfaced on Tuesday when he informed The Ringer's Mirin Faden that he and the organization "don’t see eye-to-eye on what we think is best for us right now.”
Many have pointed to the apparent rift between Adams and the organization likely stemming from the team's change at quarterback.
The Raiders opted to move off of Adams' close friend Derek Carr this offseason in favor of Jimmy Garoppolo. However, former NFL star and ex-teammate of Garoppolo, Rob Gronkowski, isn't buying the narrative that the veteran signal-caller is the reason for Adams' displeasure.
“I mean, there must be a little disconnect. I wouldn’t say it’s with the quarterback,” Gronkowski told Kay Adams on Wednesday's airing of Up & Adams. “But I would say it’s kind of more with the front office. I’m not sure what they promised [Davante Adams] or told him from the very beginning. But there definitely does seem to be a disconnect.”

Gronkowski did note that Adams likely expected to catch passes from Carr for the remainder of his Raiders career, adding "that was his buddy and his friend, and they were on the same page."
Losing Carr, a fellow Fresno State alumn, has likely served as a gut punch to Adams this offseason. Either way, the Raiders will need their 30-year-old perennial All-Pro receiver fully bought in come early September if they have any hopes of climbing out of the cellars of a highly competitive AFC West.
