Diamondbacks Sign Tyler Chatwood to Minor League Deal with Reno Aces
D. Ross Cameron-USA TODAY Sports

On April 9th, the Arizona Diamondbacks re-signed right-handed pitcher Tyler Chatwood to a minor league deal, assigning him to the Triple-A Reno Aces.

Last season, Chatwood made five relief appearances with the Aces after signing a non-roster deal in early August. In these outings, he allowed just one earned run over 5.1 innings, primarily serving in the 8th or 9th innings.

Chatwood brings considerable major league experience, having played for five teams, including the Los Angeles Angels, Colorado Rockies, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, and Toronto Blue Jays.

His most recent appearance in the majors was in 2021 with the Giants.

Chatwood’s best season came back in 2016 when he picked up 12 wins with a 3.87 ERA for the Rockies.

Currently, the Reno Aces, Arizona’s highest-level affiliate, hold a 5-5 record.
