Will Ferrell shows up instead of Ryan Reynolds on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Ryan Reynolds was supposed to be on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in Los Angeles.

Will Ferrell was supposed to be on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in New York City.

Ferrell showed up to Kimmel, Reynolds joined Fallon, and it was a cross-country bit for the ages.

On "The Tonight Show," Reynolds promoted Ferrell's Apple TV Plus limited series "The Shrink Next Door," which he described as an "Ant-Man" sequel mixed with "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids." The "Deadpool" star also discussed Paul Rudd's new crown as People's "Sexiest Man Alive," briefly commented on his marriage to Blake Lively before insisting on "no personal questions" and played a game with Fallon.

Over on "Kimmel," Ferrell promoted Netflix's "Red Notice" starring Reynolds, Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson, even though he has not "seen a stitch of it." And the Emmy winner also discussed Reynolds' marriage to Lively and claiming two of their daughters dressed for Halloween as "Deadpool" while the other went as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Ferrell and Reynolds wrapped filming last month on "Spirited," a modern musical take on Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol." The Apple Original movie was written and directed by Sean Anders and John Morris. Octavia Spencer also stars.
